Fast Burn High Interval TrainingBaltimore Martial Arts and Fitness will be offering a new fitness program called “Fast Burn 30” beginning Monday August 22, 2011. Fast Burn 30 is a thirty minute intense workout which incorporates high intensity interval training (HIIT). HIIT is working out at or near you maximum ability for short intervals paired with short intervals of rest. A complete workout can be accomplished in as little as 9 minutes. HITT has been shown to burn fat quicker than doing traditional exercises (treadmil, bike, rower etc.) for long periods of time. HITT has also been shown to increase athletic performance and even reduce the chances of developing type-2 diabetes.

Fast Burn 30 incorporates the Russian kettlebell into its classes. The Russian Kettlebell looks like a cannon ball with a big handle on top. Kettlebells are very versatile and allow for many different exercises. Some trainers refer to the Russian kettlebell as the one handed gym.

We are expecting a huge response to our Fast Burn 30 program. Baltimore Martial Arts has added nine new Fast Burn 30 classes to its weekly schedule. Each class has a limit of 10 participants. Appointments must be made in advance.

30-minute-workouts-that-burn-fat-fast – Interval Training

Interval training involves alternating your intensity up and down from high to low intensity. This type of training burns a significant amount of calories, according to the Mayo Clinic. To do interval training, pick a type of cardiovascular exercise that you enjoy (e.g. kettlebells :). It can be anything from jumping rope to elliptical training or again kettlebells. After doing a five-minute light warm-up, increase your intensity to 75 to 80 percent of your maximum effort for 30 seconds than reduce your workout intensity to about 50 percent of your max effort for 60 seconds and repeat this pattern for 20 minutes.
